Since last summer, we’ve been hearing quite a bit about vaping in the news and while much of the buzz was being reported inaccurately and creating more fear than facts, the FDA has decided to ban certain flavored vaping devices and pod refills. On January 2nd, 2020, the FDA announced that it would be banning the sale of all flavored vape pod refills as well as disposable flavored pods with a few exceptions.

The only exceptions to the ban are tobacco and menthol flavored pods. This ban DOES NOT include flavored vape liquids for open tank vaporizers or mods which means that vapers will still be able to purchase traditional e-liquids from our smoke and vape shop in flavors other than tobacco and menthol but not in pod form. While the FDA states on their website that the flavored pod vape ban is temporary, they do not provide an accurate timeline as to when they think flavored pod vapes and refills will be available again on the market. They do, however, mention that they are currently working on an application/inspection process for pod vape manufacturers to apply for in order to seek FDA approval but they do not go into any details about the process leading us to believe that the plan isn’t quite developed as of yet. Unfortunately, Smokers Heaven smoke, vape and tobacco shop will no longer be able to sell any flavored disposable pods of flavored pod refills after the close of business January 31st, 2020. While we will continue to stock and sell tobacco and menthol flavored pods and pod refills as they are not included in the ban, we will not be ordering any more of the flavors that will be banned so what we have is what we have. We understand that some of our customers may find this frustrating and even absurd but we will have no choice other than to comply with the ban which begins on February 1st, 2020. We will continue to monitor the FDA’s position and policy on flavored pod vapes and pod refills but until the ban is lifted, we will be ceasing the sale of flavored pods with the exception of tobacco and menthol. Our inventory is currently well stocked so if you plan on stocking up, you should come by our shop as soon as possible as we will not be adding any more flavored disposable pods or pod refills that are under the ban.
